INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS EVENT - Connecting Start-ups, Corporates & Investors
After months of planning, the ruhrSUMMIT entered its eighth round on June 13, 2023 with eighth round with 2847 visitors, 253 exhibitors, 20 start-up pitches, 4 insight talks and a Fuckup Night (FUN). Connecting start-ups, investors & corporates - The heart of the start-up ecosystem beats faster again.
On June 14, start-ups, investors and companies will once again take center stage of attention. This year, ruhrSUMMIT 2022 will take place as a one-day event and connect the start-up ecosystem live and on site in the atmospheric Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum. Svenja Tietje, Managing Director of ruhrHUB, is focusing on a new concept for the event: "We want to invite the national and international start-up scene back to Bochum and once again offer an opportunity for start-ups, investors and companies to network. On October 27 and 28, 2020, ruhrSUMMIT 2020 entered its fifth round. As a proven event for the exchange of innovative business ideas, new products and services, ruhrSUMMIT has been successfully bringing start-ups together with companies and investors from all over Europe for years and is now considered one of the top 3 start-up conferences in Germany. The first digital version of the established B2B conference for digitalization and start-ups broke new ground this year. With 3,150 participants from 30 countries, the online version of the event was also well received.

Ruhr area is a top address for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit
The RuhrSummit 2018, the largest startup conference in NRW, took place in the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum with around 3,000 participants and presented the Ruhr region as an important location for innovation and entrepreneurship. The conference was international, with startups from 50 nations, and featured an expo with around 150 innovative companies. Program highlights included presentations by well-known personalities such as Carsten Maschmeyer and Max Wittrock as well as topics such as virtual reality, smart home and IT security. The conference was organized by the 360 Online Performance Group, the Initiativkreis Ruhr and the RuhrGründer.de portal. An international pitch competition with prize money of 5,000 euros was another highlight. The continuation of the conference is already planned for next year, which underlines the growing importance of the Ruhr region as a dynamic start-up hotspot and promotes the exchange between national and international founders.

CONFERENCE - PITCH - MATCH MAKING
It combines a conference with top speakers, match-making with pre-selected discussion partners and the RuhrPitch. With the two sub-events ImpactSummit (for social startups) and InternationalSummit (for global startups), the RuhrSummit is an event that radiates far beyond the region. The three initiators of the RuhrSummit - Ruhrgruender.de, the Initiativkreis Ruhr and the 360 Online Performance Group - can draw on a large network of partners and supporters. First and foremost are the Social Impact Lab in Duisburg (as co-initiator of the ImpactSummit) and the IHKs in the Ruhr region (as co-initiators of the InternationalSummit). All organizers and supporters come directly from the startup scene or are closely connected to it and simply know from personal experience exactly where the problems are and in which areas startups need both information and a functioning network. So this year, too: "We want to shine the spotlight of the startup scene on the Ruhr region for two days!". Once again, with this unique highlight event, we want to show the noticeable dynamism in the scene that has developed over the last three years through events and initiatives - both from politics and local companies and the scene itself. We as the organizing team invite you to join us and actively shape the startup landscape in the Ruhr region. We look forward to every single participant, but of course also to multipliers, supporters and people who would like to get actively involved. RuhrSummit 2016 marks departure for a new start-up culture
The premiere of the largest startup conference in the Ruhr region, ruhrSUMMIT 2016, took place on Thursday, July 28 at the Zeche Carl in Essen. With over 500 participants and top-class speakers such as RWE CEO Peter Terium and Trivago founder Rolf Schrömgens, the conference sent out a strong signal for the up-and-coming start-up culture in the Ruhr region. The response from business, politics and the start-up community confirmed the need for such an event. The RuhrSummit brought together founders, supporters and investors and underlined the importance of the Ruhr region for the German startup scene. The program included networking, keynote speeches, workshops and discussion rounds on topics such as founding, marketing, financing and social entrepreneurship. One highlight was the pitch competition, in which six finalists competed for a place at the European Venture Summit 2016.
